Texas A&M President Receives National Notice

Texas A&M University President Elsa Murano has picked up national honors.
Murano has been named one of the “most influential” leaders in the Latino community by Latino Leaders: The National Magazine of the Successful American Latino
Murano, who became president of the nation’s sixth-largest university in December 2007, will be featured on the magazine’s “101 The List,” which includes corporate executives, foundation leaders, elected officials and educators.
The Cuban-born Murano served as vice chancellor and dean of Texas A&M Agriculture and Life Sciences and had been undersecretary for food safety for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
